The company is responsible for the generation, of heat and electricity in the Republic of Tajikistan as well the export of the electricity to the abroad.
In accordance with the restructuring program of OJSC "Barqi Tojik", adopted by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, two new open joint-stock companies were created on the basis of OJSC "Barqi Tojik":
