29.01.2020 Connection of target settlements in Khatlon region of Tajikistan to Barqi Tojik’s electricity distribution network

 Barqi Tojik (BT) has engaged the Energy Sector Project Management Unit (ESPMU) – a state establishment - to carry out the project activities, including procurement, FM, technical supervision, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E). ESPMU/BT will need support of an experienced consultant to prepare for and supervise various aspects of the proposed grid-connection works.

It owns and operates most of the electricity generating plants and is also responsible for electricity transmission, dispatch, and distribution services to around 8 million people in all regions of the country except for Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO) region of Tajikistan.

. CASA 100 project objective. The proposed CASA-1000 project will facilitate the first electricity trade of 1,300 megawatts (MW) of existing summertime hydropower surplus between the two regions, involving the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan in Central Asia and Afghanistan and Pakistan in South Asia. Project preparation was guided by the 4-country minister-level Inter-Governmental Council (IGC) and through consultations with the 10-member Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program. A Secretariat of the CASA-1000 project was put in place in 2011. The project is expected to consist of the construction and operation of transmission infrastructure in the four countries. The Project has purpose and would contribute to alleviating power supply shortages in Pakistan and Afghanistan and would enhance revenues and economic prospects in the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan.

31.01.2019 INVITATION for expressions of interest for the provision of
The Republic of Tajikistan has applied for a grant financing with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the implementation of Reconnection to the Central Asian Power System Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to pay for consulting services in project implementation period. The project consists of the following components:

28.01.2019 Asian Development Bank will be connected the Tajik Power Network with Energy Power Grid of Central Asia. It will help to republic sell their excess energy.
In November 23, 2018 between Government of Tajikistan and ADB was signed the Grant Agreement in the amount of $35 million, which will be directed to complete reconnection of electric-power system of Tajikistan with Power Network of Uzbekistan. This implies that from 2009 year the reconstruction of the parallel operations of tajik energy system was disconnected in some region. 

18.04.2017 Request for expressions of interest consultant services –financial audit
The Republic of Tajikistan has received financing from the Islamic Development Bank toward the cost of the Reconstruction of Ravshan Electricity Substation project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services. The services include Audit of Project’s Financial Statement and preparation of its Report. Please refer to the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in Jumhuriat Newspaper under No. 75, dated 29 April 2014 and 20 May 2014.

25.11.2015 Wholesale Metering and Transmission Reinforcement Project.

The Republic of Tajikistan has received financing (grant) from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost Wholesale Metering and Transmission Reinforcement Project.Parts of this financing will be used for payments under the contract for Replacement of electricity meters, replacement of several current transformers, replacement of several voltage transformers, introduction of an advanced metering infrastructure, and introduction of a settlement system.Bidding is open to all bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.
